I know the Golden Globes were a few weeks ago but I still think you might enjoy the pictures of the shoes from the Red Carpet. Mostly, I think I want to give my take on the shoes I would have preferred to see on the Red Carpet. The shoes were beautiful shoes, I just didn’t like them with evening clothes. One of the things that I found while web searching was the “EVENING” shoe option on all of the websites. So I guess I am not the only one who realizes there is a difference between DAY and EVENING shoes!
This designer dress deserved a red or gold strappy sandal to match the draped lines of the dress. The black shoes look really stark/harsh against the dress. Not sexy enough.
I think this red Valentino would have been a better choice for this dress. And if you didn’t want to be “matchy” then this Jimmy Choo would also compliment the dress.
Yes, this is a strappy sandal – but it is a day shoe, not a night shoe. This shoe was entirely too chunky for the gown. Straps for the evening are thinner and the shoe is daintier.
Since there is so much going on with this dress, I like this Ralph Lauren T-Strap to compliment and set the dress off!
NOW, I am wondering who said that BLACK is the new neutral in shoe colors. It is NOT. Again we have a beautiful dress where the look is destroyed by the wrong shoe. Since it may be hard to get a white shoe that will match a white dress – try a crystal or gold shoe to compliment the look and not take all the attention. Not sure if it is the season for white yet? I like the white Christian Louboutin but you can’t tell from pictures if it would work. That leaves the two strap crystal Manolo Blahnik,
which is probably the safe choice
while the gold Brian Atwood would be edgy!
There is a lot going on with this shoe. And, I don’t think I would have chosen this gladiator style sandal to go with this red carpet dress, however, I have to admit that this look does work. She looks really good – perfect ‘look at me styling.‘
